Preston Poets’ Society is a forum that promotes the enjoyment of reading and writing of poetry.
Our programme includes readings of members’ poems, 4 annual poetry competitions, discussions, member projects, workshops and occasional guest speakers. Additional meetings include a social afternoon at the President’s house, two evenings of words and music in conjunction with Preston Recorded Music Society and a Summer day trip to a venue of literary interest.
We also produce a quarterly Newsletter. Some of our members have published books (poetry and fiction). Many are involved in readings at venues around Preston.
We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7.30 (excepting August) at St George’s Church Hall, off Lune Street.
Please come along and see for yourself. We are always pleased to welcome new members.
